Adapted from Alexandre Dumas' timeless tale, this witty and action packed swash-buckler inserts the author himself into the plot, writing and re-writing his way through the adventures of D'Artagnan and his band of Musketeers as they fight the rule of a dishonest Cardinal and protect the ones they love. Double crossings, kidnappings, and carefully guarded secrets keep the Musketeers and the writer in constant battle against their enemies, from looming deadlines to deadly assassins. Featuring lavish sword fights and sweeping romance, this adaptation of the classic novel evokes a time where honor and love ruled all.

Cast of characters:

D'Artagnan- Male: Young, headstrong (slightly arrogant), confident, skilled French swordsman who dreams of becoming a King’s Musketeer. Charismatic and chivalrous. Aged 16-25, athletic

Athos- Male: Serious, loyal, refined, skilled French swordsman, the leader of the three friends. Aged: 35-50; either ambidextrous (as the script says) or very un-ambidextrous for comedic reasons; athletic

Aramis- Male: Passionate in love, faith, service and friendship. Former theology student and possible clergy. Aged: 35-50; athletic

Porthos- Male: Just as passionate as Amaris when it comes to love, service, friendship, and food, but not quite as much on faith. A warrior who never shies away from a fight who is boisterous and gregarious, life of the party. Aged: 35-50; athletic

Dumas/Treville/Others- Male: Author of the story, narrator, and captain of the guard. As well as personifying “Deus ex Machina” to the letter. Aged: 40-60

Richelieu- Male: Cardinal of France and chief advisor to the King. He is a master manipulator. Aged: 35-60

Rochefort- Male: Villain to both D’Artagnan and Dumas alike. Handy with a blade or a sharp word. Does the bidding of the Cardinal. Aged: 35-50

King Louis XIII- Male: Young, jealous King, easily manipulated by the Cardinal whom he looks up to in a way as he also does to Treville. Aged: 18-35
