Disney Channel's smash hit musical comes to life on the ACT stage!

When basketball star Troy Bolton and smart, shy Gabriella Montez audition for their high school musical, they divide the school. Other students attempt to thwart their dreams, but Troy and Gabriella face the peer pressure and inspire others not to "stick to the status quo." Sharpay Evans, a drama queen and high school diva, will do anything to sabotage the friendship of Troy and Gabriella - and win the lead part in the musical for herself. A timeless, upbeat tale of teen love.

Director

Diane Allen is the coordinator for the YouThespian program at Albany Civic Theater, and directing her third all-youth production at ACT, following Excalibur! The Story of Young King Arthur in 2011 and Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. in 2010. She has also directed, assistant directed, and choreographed multiple school and church productions.
