A success both on Broadway and at the Mark Taper Forum, in Los Angeles, this beautifully written play is a story of unconditional love. James is an instructor at a school for the deaf - a hearing instructor. Sarah, an employee and sometimes student, is deaf since birth.

It is the story of two people from different worlds, one full of sound and noise, the other silence and fury; of two people who overcome their own fears and prejudices and those of people around them.

Winner of the Tony Award, the Outer Critics Circle Award and the Drama Desk Award as best play of the season.

Contains mature language and themes.
