Of Mice and Men

by John Steinbeck

directed by Kay M. Roth

Auditions: March 23, 24; callbacks March 25, 2009

Performances: June 5, 6, 12, 13, 14(m), 18, 19, 20, 2009

Set in Depression-era California, Of Mice and Men is an American literary classic about the unlikely friendship between George and Lenny, their dreams of “living off the fat of the land” and the tragedy that occurs when the gentle, dim Lennie loses control.

Steinbeck's deceptively simple novel about life during hard times continues to resonate with audiences on the stage as it has for more than 70 years on the page.

What the reviewers said:

" ... witness to the enduring power of John Steinbeck's dramatization of his 1937 novel to grab its audience by the heart and never let go." - NY Times

"...one of the best dramatic adaptations of a famously gritty novel." - Curtain Up
