A Love Affair

by Jerry Mayer

directed by Miranda Prince

Auditions: December 1, 2, 3, 2008
Performances: February 6, 7, 13, 14, 15(m), 19, 20, 21

Jerry and Alice Diamond are clearing out the attic of their Malibu home in preparation for their reluctant move into a cramped condo, and find themselves reliving the flawed masterpiece of their 38-year marriage.

Two pairs of actors play the Diamonds – in their youth, and in the present – observing and commenting on each other and the transitions of their lives. Brimming with all the comedy - and drama - of a long marriage, "A Love Affair" is ACT's Valentine gift to the community.

Some profanity; suitable for teens and adults.

What the reviewers said:

"Terrific. "-Hollywood Reporter.

"Zingy one-liners keep the audience laughing, Critic's Choice. "- Drama-Logue.

"Warm of heart, quick of wit."-Variery.

"Mayer keeps the humor constant but he's careful not to sacrifice humanity for hilarity."-LA. Magazine
